CLASSIFICATION
Non-Exempt CareSTL Health is seeking Medical Assistants to join our team! The Medical Assistant II helps patients by providing information, services, and assistance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following information is considered the definition of essential functions but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. The Medical Assistant II may be reassigned duties and responsibilities at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other staffing reasons. Prepare patient for examination and assist provider with exam and procedure as needed and conduct patient intake and discharge according to policy and procedure. To ensure the best health outcome for our patients and their families Collect all forms accompanying patient and verify patient demographics and prep chart accurately take age appropriate vital signs Obtain and process specimens for transport to the lab Assist provider with complex dressing changes and perform simple wound care and dressing changes and administer injections and nebulizer treatments as ordered and administer peak flow meter test for respiratory assessment Clean and decontaminate re-usable equipment for autoclave sterilization and set up the exam rooms Additional job duties Assist with medical emergencies as instructed (e.g. CPR, First aid) Performs all other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of
Medical Assistant Current CPR Certification Experience:
1-2 yrs of experience working in a Community Health Center/or Physician Office setting, preferred
