Medical Assistant

Job description: Searching for an experienced and caring Medical Assistant to join our team of dedicated Pain Management professionals to assist at both the Biloxi and Pascagoula clinical locations. Important requirement:

all applicants must demonstrate a minimum typing speed of 4 0 wpm . All candidates will be tested on this skill during the interview process, failure to meet this requirement will result in disqualification from consideration for this role. As a Medical Assistant, you would be responsible for:

• Greeting patients when they arrive at the clinic and showing them to the exam rooms
• Interviewing patients to record their medical history, obtaining vital signs, and obtaining other information such as test results from medical records
• Cleaning examination rooms between patient and keeping all work spaces neat, clean, and stocked
• Collecting specimens in the laboratory, logging them, and preparing them for testing
• Assisting with patient education (medication, diet, procedures, or physician instructions to patient)
• Performing general office duties such as taking dictation, completing insurance forms, filing and scanning, contacting other facilities/ departments, contacting patients, scheduling, etc.
• Helping physicians examine and treat patients; handing them instruments and materials during procedures and exams
• Taking inventory and ordering medical, lab, or office supplies and equipment
• Other tasks as needed

Qualifications:

• CCMA/CMA/ RMA or equivalent experience is required
• Must be able to sit or stand for 6 hours
• Must have the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
• Must have a current driver license and reliable transportation to work (this position is 1 day a week in Pascagoula and 4 days a week in Biloxi)
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Must type at least40 WPM (We do a typing test)
• Bilingual is a PLUS!!!
