Certified Medical Assistant /
Front Office Support Location:
Lucedale, MS About the Practice Dr. Ohea's office is a growing primary care practice in Lucedale, Mississippi, dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered healthcare to the local community. Our team values professionalism, teamwork, efficiency, and creating a welcoming environment for every patient who walks through our doors. We are seeking a dependable and motivated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) who is also comfortable assisting with front office responsibilities as needed. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced outpatient setting and values building strong relationships with patients and coworkers alike. Position Overview The Certified Medical Assistant will support both the clinical and administrative functions of the practice. The ideal candidate is flexible, organized, professional, and willing to assist wherever needed to help ensure smooth daily office operations. This role requires a team-oriented individual who can comfortably transition between patient care responsibilities and front office support duties.
ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities:
Room patients and prepare them for provider visits Obtain and document vital signs Update medications, allergies, and patient medical histories Assist providers during examinations and procedures Administer injections and perform clinical tasks within certification scope Prepare and clean exam rooms between patients Process medication refill requests and provider messages Assist with referrals, authorizations, and medical documentation Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times
Front Office Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients professionally and courteously Verify insurance and patient demographic information Schedule appointments and manage incoming calls Collect copays and assist with patient paperwork Scan and upload medical records into the EMR system Support office organization and workflow efficiency Assist with general administrative tasks as needed Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required Previous experience in a primary care or outpatient setting preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Comfortable assisting in both clinical and administrative roles Familiarity with EMR systems and medical documentation Professional demeanor and positive attitude Strong teamwork and reliability What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Professional and dependable Flexible and willing to help where needed Compassionate and patient-focused A strong communicator and team player Organized and detail-oriented Why Join Us?
