Job Description

Clinical Office Assistant (Part Time•) Do you want to start or continue a career in the growing healthcare field? Do you have an enthusiasm for customer service and a talent for multi-tasking? Do you value teamwork and thrive in an efficiency-focused environment? We would love for you to join our small office team as a part-time Clinical Office Assistant. As a private ophthalmology clinic, we provide medical and surgical eye care for our Missoula community. We pride ourselves on working together as a team to provide excellent service to our patients. We are proud of our reputation for putting patients first and hope you will join us to carry on that tradition. As a Clinical Office Assistant you will help our team provide excellent patient care in a variety of tasks. We emphasize teamwork and cross-training and will support you as you grow into your role. •While this is a part-time, entry-level position there are opportunities for advancement into full-time administrative or clinical roles for the right candidate. Job Responsibilities Answering phones, taking messages and routing calls to the appropriate point of contact Calling patients to schedule appointments Entering patient demographic and insurance information Verifying insurance eligibility and pre-authorization requirements for patient appointments Collecting patient payments Preparing medical charts for appointments and filing completed charts Preparing and sending correspondence to other medical providers Requesting prior medical records from other healthcare providers Administering diagnostic testing ordered by the doctors Communicating with patients regarding their test results Communicating with pharmacies regarding patients' prescriptions Communicating with insurance companies regarding prior authorizations and claims Managing other tasks and projects as needed This is a flexible part-time position. We are happy to work with you to design a mutually agreeable schedule. We are also excited to tailor your position and responsibilities to your specific skills and interests.
