CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Western NC Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). We are committed to caring for our patients with purpose and integrity and providing our team members with the support they need. We are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) PRN on an as needed basis. These services would be needed for our medical clinics which are open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6 pm. WNCCHS will offer the CMA
  • PRN pre-scheduled, same day, and current week assignments.
We offer 8 or 10 hour shifts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform clinical duties under the direction of a physician, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse Perform phlebotomy, and process specimens for patients of all ages Set up medical examination rooms, prepare and administer medications and vaccines Obtain vital signs and patient information Obtain EKG's, assist with wound care and minor surgical procedures e.g., removal of benign cyst Assist in administrative duties as needed, including handling calls
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Current certification as a Medical Assistant
  • required OR, 3 to 5 years as medical assistant in an outpatient health care setting Extensive phlebotomy experience Postsecondary technical course(s) helpful, but not required Experience using Electronic Health Records systems Additional skills preferred : Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or Russian Experience in public health
