Job Description

Description Appalachian Mountain Health (AMH) is hiring another Medical Assistant for the expansion of our Mobile Medical Team. Appalachian Mountain Health offers accessible, patient-centered care at our six locations throughout Western North Carolina. Our mission is to deliver timely, comprehensive, and quality health services with dignity and respect to WNC residents, regardless of a person's ability to pay. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we build on a history of growth and sustainability. Our Mobile Medical Team provides care at Transformation Village, Safe Shelter, Compass Pointe, Salvation Army, Aston Towers, Pisgah View just to name a few locations. Background Check and Drug Screen required. Requirements Medical Assistant (Certified preferred) Assisting healthcare providers Maintaining electronic health records (EHR) and coordinating patient activities. Collecting specimens for laboratory testing, administering medications and immunizations and conducting patient intake and exit interviews. Using data and patient registries to outreach to patients in need of preventive care and follow-up for chronic conditions. Assisting with patient referrals, tracking and follow-up. As appropriate, triaging phone calls and following up on patient requests. Requirements include at least one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience and completion of Medical Assistant certification; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
