This position will be the first point of contact for patients, addressing their clinical inquiries and providing essential support to healthcare providers. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a private practice environment. •
Key Responsibilities:
•Handle incoming and outgoing clinical calls. Respond promptly and professionally to clinical questions from patients. Provide clear and accurate information while ensuring patient confidentiality. Assign and manage documents from the fax box to the appropriate personnel and electronic records. Assist in obtaining prior authorizations for procedures and medications as needed. Call patients to discuss lab results, address any questions, and provide necessary education and support. Administer vaccines to individuals of all ages, from newborns to geriatrics, while maintaining accurate records. Perform and assist with in-house testing procedures, including EKGs, spirometry, urinalysis, and other tests as required by healthcare providers. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems for documentation and data management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate effectively with physicians, Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs), and other medical professionals to ensure optimal patient care. Maintain a clean and organized workspace while efficiently managing multiple tasks in a busy healthcare setting. Take and record vital signs, verify medications, and room patients. •
Requirements & Skills:
•Active certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA/CCMA) is required. Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program Experience in primary care settings is preferred but not mandatory. Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred; experience with eClinicalWorks is a plus.
