Full Time Reports to : Clinic Manager
OVERVIEW
The Medical Assistant (MA) supports the overall performance of the Clinic by creating a welcoming and professional environment for our patients and their families. The MA performs various clinical and administrative duties. The MA assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of our healthcare providers and clinical management team. The MA assists with the Check-in and Registration process, triages patients, measures vital signs and records information on patients' charts.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with Front Office to greet patients, answer telephone calls, schedule appointments, check-in/check-out patients, scan medical records, and any other administrative tasks as assigned by Director Clean, stock and prepare examination rooms Record patient information such as vital signs, weight, changes in medical history and medications in each patient chart prior to patient seeing the provider Perform injections, blood draws, specimen collections and record proper documentation Translate for patient and provider to ease language barrier and deliver culture-friendly care as we provide excellent service Complete referrals sent by providers to outside facilities and contact facilities to schedule patients Coordinate medication refill authorization Deliver culture-friendly care as we provide excellent service Demonstrate professionalism at all times - no job is too small, and you go above and beyond to help the team Report to Director for varied additional day-to-day tasks
REQUIREMENTS
Bilingual, Spanish is a Requirement, No Exceptions Medical Assistant Diploma/Certification 2+ years working for a primary care practice or hospital
BLS/CPR/FIRST AID
High level of professionalism Strong customer service skills Follows direction and is a team player Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people, including Hispanic/Latino segment Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed Reliable transportation Flexible schedule
