Pediatrics Position Overview A busy pediatric medical practice in Greensboro is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) to join its clinical team. This role is responsible for supporting physicians and providers in delivering high-quality patient care to infants, children, and adolescents in an outpatient clinic setting. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced pediatric environment. This position requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient and family centered care. Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Clinical Support Prepare patient charts and review medical records prior to appointments. Room patients and obtain vital signs, height, weight, temperature, and other required measurements. Collect and document patient histories, symptoms, and concerns in the electronic medical record (EMR). Recognize urgent or high-acuity patient conditions and promptly communicate findings to providers. Assist physicians during well-child visits, sick visits, and follow-up appointments. Maintain accurate immunization records and update patient information as needed. Provide basic patient care and clinical support under provider direction. Medication Administration & Procedures Administer vaccines, medications, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing as appropriate. Document all medications, treatments, immunizations, and patient responses accurately in the EMR. Support vaccine inventory management, storage, and handling procedures. Assist with scheduled immunization visits and follow established standing orders. Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records. Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy standards and patient confidentiality requirements. Follow all OSHA, CLIA, infection prevention, and workplace safety guidelines. Support quality initiatives and documentation standards required for EHR compliance and regulatory reporting. Patient & Family Education Provide educational materials and instructions as directed by providers. Communicate treatment plans, medication instructions, and follow-up recommendations to patients and families. Promote patient wellness and preventive healthcare initiatives. Team Collaboration Work closely with physicians, nurses, clinical leadership, and administrative staff. Participate in departmental meetings, training programs, and quality improvement initiatives. Maintain a positive, professional, and patient-focused approach in all interactions. Qualifications Required Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent credential. •Associates Degree from accredited school•Current CPR/AED certification. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program. Experience working in a healthcare or outpatient clinical setting. Knowledge of EMR systems and electronic documentation. Strong understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and patient safety standards. Preferred Pediatric experience strongly preferred. Experience administering vaccines and immunizations. Familiarity with immunization schedules and vaccine documentation requirements. Experience performing specimen collection and point-of-care testing. Knowledge & Skills Strong pediatric patient care skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy clinical environment. Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures. Strong documentation and charting skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a healthcare team. Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills. Work Environment Outpatient pediatric medical practice. Exposure to common healthcare and clinical environments.
