Job Description
Overview Medical Professionals is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) to support patient care within a fast-paced Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Center. This role assists clinical teams in preparing patients for GI procedures, supporting examinations, and ensuring smooth daily clinic and procedure operations. The Medical Assistant plays a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the procedural experience. Key Responsibilities Provide direct clinical support to physicians, APPs, and nursing staff during patient care and procedures Prepare patients for GI procedures by collecting medical histories, medications, allergies, and vital signs Assist during examinations, treatments, diagnostic procedures, and minor in-office procedures Prepare and restock procedure rooms, recovery areas, equipment, and supplies Support patient flow, room turnover, and maintain a clean and organized clinical environment Document patient information, interventions, and responses in the electronic health record (EHR) Collect specimens and perform basic clinical and laboratory tasks as directed Reinforce patient education regarding procedures, discharge instructions, medications, and follow-up care Assist with scheduling, referrals, prior authorizations, and prescription refill processing per protocol Respond to patient phone calls and relay clinical information as directed by providers Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and safety standards Assist during emergency situations within scope of practice Perform additional duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office or clinical setting Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment Preferred Qualifications Experience in gastroenterology, endoscopy, ambulatory surgery, or procedural care settings Experience supporting patient preparation and recovery processes Schedule and Pay Full-time, in-office position Monday•Friday, 8:00 AM•5:00
