Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to expand your career? Stedman-Wade Health Services is seeking an enthusiastic Medical Assistant to become part of our growing team! The Medical Assistant plays a critical role in our team-based approach to deliver medical care in a compassionate, efficient, and organized manner. As a Medical Assistant, you will perform routine administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Completion and documentation of vital signs, preparing patients for examination, administering vaccines/medications, and completing point-of-care tests. Completes diagnostic testing as ordered by the provided such as EKG, spirometry, audiometry, visual acuity, retinal screening. Performs certain procedures as directed by the provider to include ear irrigation and suture/staple removal. Prepares medical examination rooms and cleans/disinfects between each patient. Maintain the stock of necessary medical supplies in the assigned examination rooms Relay messages and otherwise facilitate communications to and from patients and/or their caregivers. Ensures all incoming and outgoing paperwork is completed in a timely manner according to company policy Completes clinical tasks within the EHR in a timely manner according to company policy Performs quality control procedures on laboratory equipment in accordance with OSHA, CLIA, and other applicable standards Adheres to the delegated criteria of Laboratory and Medical Acts policy and procedures Maintains a safe environment for patients, staff and others by establishing and ensuring compliance with standards for patient safety, infection control and a safe work environment. Ensures SWHS is meeting all regulatory requirements including HRSA, PCMH, Joint Commission and OSHA. Participates in the health center's quality assessment/improvement activities and performs duties in accordance with applicable standards. Represents the organization at health fairs and events as directed by the CEO. Performs other duties as assigned to fulfill the mission and strategic plan of the organization.EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Completion of a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician Program required. CCMA, CMA, RMA, CNA, or EMT preferred. Current BLS certification requiredEXPERIENCE
One year of recent experience in the medical field is preferred.OTHER REQUIREMENTS
