Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and flexible Medical Assistant to join our team. In this position, you will provide support for both pediatric and family care at our Sneads Ferry office. Your adaptability and commitment to patient care will be essential in ensuring our operations run smoothly. Clinical Duties include but not limited to the following:
- Travel between two clinics as needed, adapting quickly to different clinic environments, and procedures while maintaining a high standard of care, demonstrating flexibility and a positive attitude.
- Assist in coordinating and conducting patient care from pre-visit through post visit.
- Obtaining medical histories and recording vital signs.
- While interviewing patients to obtain medical information use self-management and motivational techniques to engage patient in self-care.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient data in NextGen EHR with essential information.
- Thoroughly communicate and explain treatment procedures to patients using effective and appropriate communication skills.
- Assisting the physician during the examination and procedures, handing instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections and removing sutures; Change sterile and non-sterile dressings.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens; perform CLIA Waived laboratory tests on premises
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms stocked, neat and clean.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety and infection control protocols.
- Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physician.
- Engage in continuous self-education to enhance your skills and knowledge in the medical field.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school or GED graduation required.
- Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Must have thorough education or training in the basics of medical terminology.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly, approachable attitude.
- Ability to adapt to various clinic environments and embrace changes with enthusiasm.
- Self-motivated, analytical, quick learner, organized, detail-oriented, multi-tasker.
- Active listener that is able to analyze, negotiate, and respond appropriately to the message being communicated.
