In this vital role, you will support clinical operations across outpatient and inpatient settings, ensuring seamless patient care and efficient clinic workflows. Your expertise will help deliver exceptional patient experiences while maintaining the highest standards of medical support. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in diverse medical environments, including dermatology, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, and more, contributing to improved health outcomes for our patients. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and updating electronic health records (EHR systems). Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates with precision and care. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and maintaining a professional bedside manner. Support clinical procedures such as medication administration, wound dressing changes, X-ray preparation, and basic life support (BLS) protocols. Conduct basic physiology and anatomy assessments to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage medical documentation including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to ensure accurate billing and recordkeeping. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards in outpatient, inpatient, or trauma center settings. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, coordinating follow-up appointments, and supporting diverse patient populations including geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Geriatrics patients. Support hospital operations in emergency medicine or Level I/II trauma centers by assisting with intake assessments or emergency procedures as needed. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various specialties such as internal medicine, medical-surgical units, or outpatient clinics to optimize patient care. Experience Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or specialty areas like dermatology or urgent care is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration processes. Experience supporting clinical procedures such as X-ray imaging or assisting in OR (Operating Room) environments is advantageous. Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and scheduling is essential for success in this role. Background working within Level I or Level II trauma centers or hospital settings with emergency medicine exposure will be considered a strong asset. Proven ability to provide compassionate patient care across diverse populations including geriatrics or pediatric patients in PICU settings is desirable. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or specific specialties are a plus.
