Days | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Join a High-Performing Anatomic Pathology Team We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Pathologists' Assistant (PA) for a travel assignment in a busy hospital laboratory setting. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a collaborative pathology team while utilizing advanced surgical pathology and autopsy skills in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Position Overview As a Pathologists' Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting pathologists through the gross examination, dissection, and preparation of surgical specimens and autopsy materials. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate specimen processing, documentation, and tissue preparation for diagnostic evaluation. This position offers exposure to a wide variety of complex pathology cases while working in a modern hospital laboratory environment. Key Responsibilities Perform gross examination and dissection of large and complex surgical pathology specimens Conduct gross examination and processing of small biopsy specimens Prepare tissues for histological processing and microscopic evaluation Perform specimen sectioning, fixation, receipt, labeling, and handling Obtain and review relevant patient clinical information, including laboratory results, imaging studies, and medical records Assist with tumor triage and specimen management Perform tissue sampling for microscopic examination Support autopsy procedures, including evisceration and tissue preparation Maintain accurate pathology documentation and reporting Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards and safety protocols Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and workflow management Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of Pathologists' Assistant experience Previous travel assignment experience required ASCP Pathologists' Assistant (PA) Certification required Strong experience in: Surgical pathology specimen grossing and dissection Hospital clinical laboratory environments Tissue preparation and histological processing Tumor triage Adult and fetal autopsy procedures Experience with Epic EMR Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Assignment Highlights Monday-Friday daytime schedule No weekends required No on-call responsibilities No floating requirements Opportunity to work with a highly skilled pathology team Advanced hospital laboratory environment Exposure to diverse and complex pathology cases Collaborative and supportive workplace culture Ideal Candidate Detail-oriented and highly organized Strong surgical pathology and autopsy experience Comfortable working independently and collaboratively Excellent communication and documentation skills Passionate about laboratory excellence and patient care Apply today to advance your pathology career through this rewarding travel opportunity!
