Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant/Receptionist, where your energy and dedication will directly impact patient care and clinic operations. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional service while supporting medical staff with clinical and administrative tasks. Duties Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify appointment details, and assist with patient intake processes. Collect vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate to support accurate clinical assessments. Prepare patients for examinations by documenting medical histories and updating electronic health record (EHR) systems with relevant information. Assist healthcare providers with procedures including medication administration, X-ray setup, and basic life support (BLS) protocols. Support clinical workflows by managing ICD coding for diagnoses, handling specimen collection, and maintaining sterile environments in outpatient or inpatient settings. Schedule appointments, answer patient inquiries via phone or in person, and coordinate follow-up care efficiently. Maintain detailed documentation of patient interactions, clinical notes, and administrative records to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Qualifications Prior experience in medical settings such as clinics, hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers), or specialized units like PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Geriatrics, or Medical-Surgical units is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and hospital medicine practices. Familiarity with EHR systems and ICD coding to accurately document patient encounters. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications like X-ray operation or medication administration are advantageous. Experience working in outpatient clinics or emergency medicine environments is desirable; hospital experience is a plus. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to handle intake procedures smoothly while demonstrating professionalism and empathy. Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced settings such as urgent care centers or trauma centers while maintaining attention to detail.
