General Qualifications:
Must have Medication Aide Certification Must have current BLS Must have medical assistant certificate from a school program Ability to work independently following established guidelines or directions. Certification or Registration in medical assisting, a plus, not required. Friendly and people-oriented. Good communication skills, including excellent telephone etiquette. Ability to use a Personal Computer. Team player mentality, working cooperatively with co-workers to ensure back-office responsibilities are completed.
General Summary:
As a Medical Assistant at UroHealth Partners , you'll play a vital role in assisting physicians and Advanced Practice Providers with various clinical tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic and procedure rooms. Your responsibilities will include rooming patients, taking vitals, drawing labs, processing equipment, and assisting with in-office procedures. Your dedication to providing excellent customer service and your ability to work effectively as part of a team will contribute to our ongoing success.
Specific Competencies:
Room patients for Providers in our clinic and procedure rooms and prepare them for indicated exams. Prepare and process lab specimens, including chemical serum analysis and microscopic urinalysis. Review patient charts prior to visits to ensure all necessary information is available. Perform IM and subcutaneous injections. Assist with various office procedures as directed by physicians. Perform patient tasks such as scheduling appointments and obtaining outside records. Ensure exam rooms are stocked and ready for clinic visits. Provide backup support for obtaining prior authorizations and pre-certifications. Assist with miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisors or physicians.
