Job Description

We're growing our team!! We are looking for a compassionate, motivated Certified Medical Assistant to join our busy surgical specialty practice in Lincoln. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support physicians and nursing staff in providing comprehensive patient care within our physician clinic. This role involves direct patient interaction, clinical documentation, procedural assistance, care coordination, and communication with patients and outside healthcare organizations to ensure efficient, high-quality care. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform patient intake assessments and document findings in the electronic medical record (EMR) Obtain and accurately record vital signs, weight, and other pertinent clinical information Assist providers during examinations and in-office procedures Function as a clinical scribe by documenting patient visits in real time Present patient information to providers for review Review treatment plans, testing instructions, and follow-up recommendations with patients Return patient phone calls and document patient communications appropriately Obtain outside medical records, including emergency department and specialist documentation Coordinate imaging studies (CT, ultrasound, MRI, etc.) for provider review Assist with completion of FMLA, disability, and return-to-work paperwork under provider direction Draft patient communications regarding test results and provider recommendations Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation to support patient care and billing requirements Qualifications Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program Current BLS certification required Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems required (Athena Health experience preferred) Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Previous clinic, surgical, or specialty practice experience preferred Why Join Us?
