Certified Medical Assistant Job Summary:
The Certified Medical Assistant will provide support and care to patients under the direction of the provider. Supports providers by helping with various tasks including injections, blood draws, registering and rooming patients, recoding vital signs etc. In this role, you will need to be empathic in dealing with patients but knowledgeable of clerk duties while working with other members of the team and patients while still maintaining an exceptional level of guest service. Job Duties:
Responsible for front and back office Assist the provider by facilitating patient and information flow through numerous phases of the patient visit. Greet and escort patient to exam room in a professional and confidential manner. Obtain purpose of visit, vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, measurements) and document information accurately into system Inform provider of abnormal reading or significant deviation from prior visits, if appropriate. Perform routine procedures per Provider's order. Administer immunizations and injections under direct supervision of a RN or Provider (if properly certified). Clean exam rooms after each patient visit. Assist with scheduling of follow-up or necessary referrals. Maintain patient care equipment and notify supervisor of repair requirement. Keeping records regarding patient history, condition, treatments, and progress. Warmly greet all patients in-person and over the phone and explain all services available, payment and billing procedures, required identification, and clinic protocols/procedures. Answer all patient questions accurately and confidently while maintaining an exceptional customer service experience. Focus on health promotion and disease prevention Participating in the on-call program, which may include working nights, holidays, and weekends. Administer and analyze diagnostic tests. Triage and room patients. Obtain full set of vital signs. Consult with healthcare professionals, patients, and families as needed. Train patients and their families to manage and prevent illness and injury. Focus on health promotion and disease prevention. Perform injections and venipuncture blood draws. Treat coworkers and patients alike with respect and dignity at all times. Responsible for ensuring patient service needs are met. Monitors patient service feedback and contributes to the process of resolving complaints and service issues. Educates patients and family members about medical conditions and proper courses of action. Promotes a positive image of Millard Premier Medicine & Aesthetics both internally and externally at all times. Provides ongoing support to Nurse Practitioners to ensure smooth, efficient operations. Ensure patient records are properly maintained. Check in and register patients when working front desk. Identify root causes of issues and implement dynamic solutions. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Document work processes as required. Participate in daily/weekly cleaning tasks to ensure clean facilities. Deliver top-quality customer/patient service at all times. Other duties as assigned. Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
High School diploma or equivalent required Satisfactory completion of Medical Assistant course Must hold current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Must have at least one year of experience in a similar role Computer literacy and EMR proficiency Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and active listening skills Alert, thorough, reliable, and calm under stress Passionate and committed to providing high-quality, sympathetic care, and service to patients Ability to multi-task and maintain precise organization in a fast-paced environment Effective communication skills - verbal and written Ability to work independently and as part of a team Working Conditions:
