Job Description

Position Summary Family Medicine at Legacy is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team. The CMA serves as a key member of the clinical care team by assisting providers with patient care, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent communication skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Patient Care Room patients and obtain vital signs, height, weight, and medical histories. Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments. Assist providers during patient visits and minor procedures. Administer injections, immunizations, and medications as authorized. Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection. Provide patient education and follow-up instructions as directed by providers. Maintain a warm, professional, and patient-centered approach in all interactions. Clinical Support Process prescription refill requests according to clinic protocols. Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and diagnostic testing. Document patient information accurately within the electronic health record (EHR). Monitor provider schedules and assist with patient flow. Maintain exam room cleanliness, organization, and supply levels. Help manage vaccines, medications, clinical supplies, and inventory as assigned. Administrative Support Answer patient questions and return clinical phone calls. Schedule appointments as needed. Assist with quality improvement initiatives, care gaps, annual wellness visits, and population health activities. Support compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic policies. Work collaboratively with providers, front desk staff, billing staff, and other team members. Qualifications Required Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential. High school diploma or equivalent. Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment. Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude. Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic health record systems. Preferred One or more years of experience in family medicine, primary care, or outpatient clinic settings. Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Experience with immunizations, prior authorizations, and referral coordination. Experience performing venipuncture and blood specimen collection. Experience starting and monitoring intravenous (IV) lines. Interest in aesthetics, wellness, and cosmetic medicine. Experience supporting aesthetic services such as injectables, weight management programs, hormone therapy, IV hydration, or skincare treatments is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong interpersonal and patient service skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Detail-oriented approach to documentation, follow-up, and patient care. Comfortable working in a small clinic environment where team members may assist in multiple areas. Willingness to learn, cross-train, and support both clinical and operational needs. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to perform clinical duties requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity. Ability to safely assist patients and perform routine clinical procedures.
