Medical Assistant•Millard Urgent Care•Nebraska Methodist Physicians Clinic Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support our providers in delivering high-quality patient care. In this role, you'll assists physicians in daily activities such as making phone calls, prepare exam rooms, check test results, and alphabetically file patient information. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Joint (Floor and Phone) Coordinate patient care activities by tracking labs, procedures, referrals, and appointments, following up on missed services, and assisting with patient scheduling and outreach initiatives. Provide patient and family education, reinforce provider instructions, and connect patients with appropriate community resources to support treatment plans and overall wellness. Manage telephone communications, including triage, patient inquiries, test results, prescription refills, and timely return of calls in accordance with clinical protocols. Prepare patients and exam rooms for visits by obtaining vital signs, reviewing medical histories, reconciling medications, stocking supplies, and ensuring a clean, organized clinical environment. Support providers with clinical procedures and patient care by obtaining records, collecting specimens, performing phlebotomy, dispensing medications as directed, and coordinating diagnostic testing. Maintain accurate and timely documentation, order entry, specimen handling, and medication-related records to ensure compliance with clinic policies, patient safety, and quality standards.

Schedule:
12hr shifts 10am•10pm, Weekdays w/rotating Weekend and Holidays 12pm to 6pm
Salary:
Pay starts at $20.39 an hour and may increase based on work history/experience. Sign-On of $2500.00
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required. Successful completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program required . Program must include an externship/preceptorship in a clinical setting OR must have 6 months of current experience working in the capacity of a medical assistant. OR Currently enrolled in a nursing program with half of nursing courses completed. Transcripts must be provided indicating classes have been passed. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire. Medication Aide Registry (MAR or MAR.40) required within 2 months of hire date.
