Medical Assistant must be task oriented with excellent customer service skills. Medical Assistant must be able to focus on daily clinic workflow to include rooming patients, perform accurate intake, obtain vital signs, assist during procedures, and provide general support, as well as prepare patients for medical tests and exams, collaborate with providers and other staff to provide quality care, and offer support throughout all provisions of care. Must be comfortable with point of care testing, using an electronic medical record, and assisting with scheduling, referrals, and general office duties as necessary.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet patients and visitors politely. Interacts positively with patients and staff. Performs patient intake (vital signs, medical histories) and provides injections/immunizations as requested by Provider. Documents accurately in the patient's medical record. Prepares patients for medical tests and examination. Obtains EKG's waive testing (urinalysis and hemoccult) and provides competency to the lab. Processes outbound referrals and orders in an efficient and timely manner. Schedules patient referrals and orders. Provides support to Providers and nurses in the provision of care. Keeps supervisor informed of problems or issues; monitors supplies needed. Qualifications Education Preferred Technical/other training or better. Experience Preferred Successful completion of an accredited CMA program Prior customer service, administrative support, and/or office experience.
