] Duties Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories, updating records, and documenting symptoms accurately. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to assist in clinical assessments. Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort. Assist with clinical tasks such as administering medications under supervision, drawing blood, and performing basic X-ray imaging when necessary. Support physicians in dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, or emergency medicine by preparing exam rooms and handling specialized equipment like EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems for documentation. Conduct ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding for diagnoses to ensure proper billing and recordkeeping. Provide medical-surgical support in hospital settings including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers with experience in PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) or OR (Operating Room). Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and assist in emergency situations using Basic Life Support (BLS) skills. Manage administrative support tasks such as appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate medical records. Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outpatient or inpatient care across various specialties including hospital medicine and urgent care. Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program; current BLS certification required. Proven experience working in outpatient clinics, hospital environments, or specialized units such as dermatology or emergency medicine. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols. Familiarity with EHR systems and medical-surgical procedures essential for efficient documentation and patient management. Experience supporting inpatient care at Level I or Level II Trauma Centers; familiarity with PICU settings is a plus. Ability to perform clinical tasks including vital signs collection, specimen collection, X-ray assistance, and medication support confidently. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients in the PICU or Geriatrics units. Knowledge of hospital medicine practices and experience working within emergency medicine or urgent care settings preferred.
