Who You Are:
Amoskeag Health is seeking a dedicated Lead Medical Assistant who thrives in a collaborative, team-based clinical environment. You support efficient, high-quality patient care across clinical teams while providing leadership, training, and operational support to Medical Assistants within a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model. You work closely with providers to ensure clinic readiness, regulatory compliance, and a strong patient experience, and are comfortable covering a variety of MA assignments, including provider support, immunization clinics, and specialty clinics in support of Amoskeag Health's mission.
What You'll Do:
Prepare client to see medical provider; collect and record data for health history to include height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, medications, and allergies, as indicated. Prepare room based on reason for client visit. Anticipate provider's needs and follow through on treatment protocol within their role. Prepare medical record for visit, reviewing protocols due. Assist provider with procedures. Act as a chaperone when necessary. Assist patient in identifying and seeking help for specific problems. Provide education, within scope, regarding health issues the patient is involved with. This will be under the direction of the M.D. Schedule additional laboratory tests and make outside referral appointments (to hospitals) with direction from the medical provider. Record pertinent data in the medical record and utilize appropriate tracking systems. Assist in contacting patients for follow-up on missed appointments, recall testing, and outside referral appointments. Routinely stock rooms, order necessary supplies, and prepare contaminated instruments for re-sterilization following OSHA exposure control guidelines. Participate in the orientation of new personnel to Medical Assistant functions. Perform call center duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited MA program or equivalent combination of formal medical training and demonstrated clinical competency consistent with NH scope of practice. 5-7 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting required. Experience as a Medical Assistant Lead preferred. Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health setting preferred. Proven ability to support daily clinic operations (staffing coordination, clinical readiness, problem-solving). Proficiency in EMR systems and point-of-care workflows; working knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, CLIA, CDC, and NH DHHS requirements. Current
AHA BLS/CPR
certification required. National Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA
  • AAMA, RMA
  • AMT, CCMA
  • NHA, NCMA
  • NCCT).
Fluency in English (reading, writing, and comprehension) required for patient safety. Spanish proficiency preferred but not required.
What We Offer:
Compensation for this role is $22
  • 28/hour.
