Hours:
15-20 hrs per week, may increase to full time A private podiatry office in Bloomfield, NJ is seeking a Front Desk/Medical Assistant. Experience is required and candidate must be fluent in English and Spanish. Responsibilities (not limited to): Maintain a high level of patient/customer service Receive and assist patients Perform clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and document review accurately Answer phone calls and receive and send faxes Schedule appointments Verify insurance eligibility Collect appropriate co-pays, insurance deductible, outstanding balances, and co-insurance Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information and follow office HIPAA protocol Update EMR/EHR system including entering patient demographics, insurance information, and payments Assist doctor with basic medical care and procedures, including preparing patient charts and notes and setting up medical equipment Assist with performing and processing radiographs Clean instruments and equipment after use Coordinating hospital schedule for surgeries Track lab results Inventory Prepare for the next day Perform other duties as required.
