Job Description

Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) is a free clinic for the uninsured. We have an immediate Full-time opening for a bilingual (English/Spanish) Medical Assistant. Preference will given to candidates with a certification such as
CMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA
Clinical Duties Patient Intake:
Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, weight, and temperature.
Medical History:
Interview patients and document their current symptoms and medical histories.
Exam Prep:
Prepare examination rooms, contact patients regarding outstanding orders
Testing:
Collect and prepare blood or other specimens for laboratory tests.
Treatments:
Assist physicians and nurses during exams
Administrative Duties Patient Services:
Greet patients, answer telephones, and schedule appointments.
Record Management:
Enter personal and clinical data into Electronic Medical Records (EMR). In addition, you will facilitate the exchange of communication between patient and clinician as verbatim as possible in consideration of cultural practices, context, slang, and linguistic variation.
