Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Creole-speaking Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in Union city, NJ. The ideal candidate should be fluent in both Haitian Creole and English and will support physicians and nurses in delivering quality patient care, handling clinical and administrative responsibilities efficiently, and maintaining a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and prepare patients for examinations and procedures. Record patient history, vital signs, and other important health information. Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures. Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens (blood, urine, etc.). Maintain and update patient records accurately in the EMR system. Handle appointment scheduling, billing, and patient follow-ups as needed. Communicate effectively with Creole-speaking patients Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain strict patient confidentiality. Support front-desk operations when necessary (calls, insurance verification, etc.).
Qualifications:
Medical Assistant certification preferred Fluent in Haitian Creole and English preferred Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures Ability to record vital signs and patient information accurately Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Professional, dependable, and patient-focused attitude High school diploma or equivalent required
