PM Job Responsibilities:

The Pathologists' Assistant will support pathologists with surgical and autopsy pathology procedures, including: Gross examination, dissection, and preparation of surgical specimens Selection and preparation of tissue sections for: Routine microscopic examination Frozen sections Immunofluorescence Electron microscopy Ancillary studies Gross description and photography of specimens Tissue procurement for: Biorepository banking Cytogenetics Flow cytometry Research studies Operating cryostats and preparing frozen sections Using Faxitron imaging systems and transferring images to PACS Assisting with autopsies and post-mortem examinations Maintaining laboratory equipment, supplies, and cleanliness Assisting with pathology teaching and educational activities Performing pathology-related documentation and computer functions

Required Qualifications:

Education Bachelor's degree in: Pathologists' Assistant program accredited by NAACLS Health Sciences or other biological science discipline Training must include both classroom instruction and clinical training in: Surgical pathology Autopsy pathology

Experience:

Minimum 10 years of Pathologists' Assistant experience

Certifications:

ASCP Certification (American Society for Clinical Pathology)•
