Assignment Duration:
13 Weeks Schedule Monday to Friday 8:30 AM
  • 5:00 PM 40 hours/week (5 x 8-hour shifts) No weekends, holidays, on-call, or floating required Position Overview The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides both clinical and administrative support within a cardiovascular practice.
This role involves assisting physicians, performing diagnostic procedures, managing patient flow, and maintaining accurate documentation while delivering high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities Prepare exam and treatment rooms, ensuring availability of supplies and instruments Assist physicians during patient examinations and procedures Record vital signs and update patient medical records Perform diagnostic procedures including EKG, PFT, audiometry, and vision testing (Titmus) Conduct lab-related tasks such as phlebotomy, UDS, and BAT (post competency validation) Triage patient calls and respond appropriately Apply and monitor Holter and event monitors Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation Assist with billing and collections processes as needed Ensure patient confidentiality and regulatory compliance Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams Adapt care delivery based on patient needs, including age, culture, and communication barriers Required Skills & Experience 2-4 years of relevant experience Proficiency in vital signs measurement, EKG, and cardiac monitoring devices Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems Education & Certification Requirements High School Diploma or GED (required) Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred) Current AHA BLS Certification Required Certifications (one of the following): CMA (AAMA) CMA (NHA or NCCT) RMA (AMT or NAHP) NCMA or AMCA For more details reach at or Call / Text at 516-862-1203 .
