Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and clinic operations. This vital role combines clinical duties with administrative support to ensure seamless patient experiences across outpatient and inpatient settings. Whether working in dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, or urgent care centers, you will be at the forefront of delivering compassionate, efficient medical services. Duties Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates. Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks like medication administration, wound dressing changes, and preparing patients for procedures. Operate and maintain Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to accurately document patient information, diagnoses (ICD coding), and treatment plans. Support diagnostic procedures including X-ray imaging and basic laboratory tests; ensure proper handling of specimens and equipment. Conduct physiological assessments and support emergency medicine protocols in urgent care or trauma center environments, including Level I and Level II trauma centers. Manage medical supplies inventory, prepare examination rooms, and assist with sterilization processes in surgical or outpatient settings such as ORs or clinics. Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, scheduling follow-up appointments, and ensuring a comfortable experience for diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatric intensive care units (PICU), or internal medicine patients. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics, hospital medicine units, or emergency settings; familiarity with Level I and Level II trauma centers is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to support accurate patient care. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications in emergency medicine or advanced clinical skills are a plus. Hands-on experience with EHR systems and ICD coding for documentation accuracy. Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs measurement, medication administration, X-ray operation, and specimen collection confidently. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service; capable of working effectively within multidisciplinary teams including Geriatrics, Medical-Surgical units, or PICU environments. Demonstrated hospital experience across inpatient and outpatient settings; familiarity with hospital protocols in internal medicine or urgent care is preferred.
