Certified Medical Assistant (Part-Time) - Private Medical Practice Schedule Part-time position with hours generally averaging 28 hours per week. (Monday-Wednesday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM) About Us We are a small but busy private medical practice seeking a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, proactive, and committed to providing exceptional patient care. Position Summary The Medical Assistant will provide both clinical and administrative support to physicians and staff while ensuring an outstanding patient experience. Responsibilities Escort patients to examination rooms and assist providers during patient visits and procedures. Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, allergies, and chief complaints. Perform clinical duties including vital signs collection, venipuncture/phlebotomy, specimen collection, injections, and laboratory preparation. Accurately document patient information and provider notes within the EHR system. Review and follow up on laboratory and diagnostic testing as directed by the provider. Triage patient phone calls, portal messages, and clinical inquiries. Support medical administrative functions including managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, processing referrals, handling prescription refill requests, and maintaining accurate patient records. Scan, fax, and upload patient documents into the EHR system. Prepare, clean, disinfect, and stock examination rooms and medical equipment. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and office safety protocols. Assist with inventory management and other office duties as needed. Qualifications Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required. Minimum one year of experience in a private medical office preferred. Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) systems for documentation, data entry, and patient record management. Strong computer skills and attention to detail. Experience performing phlebotomy, specimen collection, and administering injections. Excellent communication, customer service, and telephone etiquette skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment. Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
