Job Description

Medical Assistant Location Secaucus, New Jersey Job Type Contract Opportunity (6-8 months with potential for extension) Compensation $27/hour

  • Multiple Openings We are actively hiring Medical Assistants to support clinical operations across New Jersey. These positions are an immediate priority due to growing client needs, with a strong preference for candidates available to work overnight schedules. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Medical Assistants looking to join a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Must have phlebotomy experience, certification not required
  • Job Duties Room and prepare patients for provider visits Take and document vital signs, height, weight, and medical history Assist physicians, nurses, and providers during examinations and procedures Prepare and clean exam rooms between patients Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens Administer injections, vaccines, and medications as directed Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up visits Maintain accurate patient records within EMR/EHR systems Verify insurance information and assist with patient intake Manage phone calls, patient messages, and appointment reminders Perform EKGs, point-of-care testing, and other basic clinical procedures Stock and organize medical supplies and equipment Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards Educate patients on medications, procedures, and discharge instructions Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and medical documentation Support providers with chart preparation and documentation review Monitor patient flow to maintain efficient clinic operations Collect and document adverse events or patient concerns when applicable Coordinate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient care Maintain professionalism and compassionate patient communication throughout visits Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience Medical Assistant certification strongly preferred Phlebotomy experience, certification not required but preferred Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical setting Strong communication and organizational skills Reliable attendance and flexibility with scheduling Must be able to pass background checks and reference verification Additional Details Looking to start ASAP You will be required to submit a Drug Screen and Background Check Preferred Availability Overnight shift availability is highly preferred Immediate availability is a plus Apply today to be considered for these urgent openings.
