Job Summary:

Under the direction of a RN/LPN or practitioner performs basic patient care activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Obtain and document patient vitals. Perform bedside testing. Perform basic nursing procedures such as oral care, perineal/foley care, non-sterile soaks, or thermal applications. Ensure cleanliness of office and examination rooms. Clean and store equipment. Maintain supply inventory and re-stock as required. Perform basic clerical duties as needed.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES

Knowledge of basic nursing and patient care.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Ø Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; plus specialized, short-term training in basic patient care. Ø Work Experience
• clinic setting preferred. Ø Training
• Formal nursing assistant and/or medical assistant training required. Ø License/Certification
• Certification in Nurse Assisting or Certification in Medical Assisting preferred.

ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS

Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
