Medical Assistant (MA)
  • $1,220 weekly plus bonus! Tohajiilee, NM 87026 $32 an hour
  • Temporary, Full-time, Contract $32 an hour
  • Temporary, Full-time, Contract Position Summary The Medical Assistant supports clinical operations in a high-volume ambulatory setting by rooming patients, collecting vitals, assisting providers, and performing administrative tasks essential to smooth clinic flow.
The MA contributes to immunization clinics, phlebotomy, and wound care support, and may rotate into the Thursday late clinic and the Tuesday To'Hajiilee Community School clinic. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Greet patients, room them, and prepare them for the provider visit Obtain and document vital signs, height, weight, and chief complaint Perform medication reconciliation and update patient demographics in the EHR Administer immunizations under provider supervision (where permitted by certification and policy) Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection; label, log, and prepare specimens for transport Assist with simple wound care, dressing changes, and minor in-clinic procedures Conduct point-of-care testing (e.g., glucose, urinalysis, rapid strep, COVID/flu) per facility protocol Sterilize instruments and maintain clean, stocked exam and treatment rooms Schedule follow-up appointments, referrals, and diagnostic testing as directed Support the Thursday late clinic rotation (4:30 PM
  • 6:30 PM) Support the Tuesday school clinic at To'Hajiilee Community School when assigned Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA, infection control, and

policies Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred. New Mexico does not require state licensure for MAs; national certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA) is preferred. Active and unrestricted license Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification Successful completion of fingerprint-based background check (initiated by

) Up-to-date immunizations (MMR, Varicella, Hep B, Tdap, annual influenza) and current PPD/TB clearance Ability to work the standard schedule (M-F, 8:00 AM
  • 4:30 PM) and rotate into the Thursday late clinic (4:30
  • 6:30 PM) Willingness to support the Tuesday off-site school clinic at To'Hajiilee Community School Cultural sensitivity and respect for the Canoncito Band of Navajos community and IHS care environment Preferred Qualifications CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA certification One or more years of MA experience in ambulatory, family practice, or community health Phlebotomy certification or demonstrated proficiency Experience with RPMS or other electronic health record systems Prior IHS, tribal Ambulatory or outpatient clinic experience Experience with electronic health record systems (RPMS or comparable) Credentialing, Compliance & OnboardingPre-Placement Requirements (All Positions) Active New Mexico licensure (RN/LPN) — verified through the New Mexico Board of Nursing Current BLS certification Fingerprint-based background check initiated by
