The Medical Assistant I position is responsible for a variety of patient care, technical, and clerical-related functions under the direction of a physician. The Medical Assistant I is responsible for the clinic-patient flow by assisting members of the patient care team and providing a broad range of healthcare services that assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure the clinic/office runs smoothly.MINIMUM MANDATORY

Education:
- High school diploma or GED High School Equivalency Test required.
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required and maintained throughout employment.
- Possess a strong professional, personable, and motivational personality that builds strong relationships with patients.
- Applications include Microsoft Word and Outlook and familiarity with electronic health record systems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with practice leadership, physicians, advanced practitioners, colleagues, and other Holy Cross Medical Center (HCMC) and Taos Professional Services (TPS) team members.

POSITION PURPOSE
The Clinical Application Support Analyst position coordinates the development, implementation, maintenance and training of the Electronic Health Record (EHR), as well as other clinical applications and computer hardware. This position serves as a clinical liaison between the Information Technology (IT) Department and clinical departments throughout Taos Professional Services for the coordination, implementation and education of clinical IT solutions. The position will work in conjunction with clinicians to implement functional solutions to clinical problems. Continued learning and maintaining up to date on all relevant applications is required. The position performs duties independently with minimal supervision, operating from specific and definite direction and instructions, performing job duties within institutional guidelines.MINIMUM MANDATORY
qualificationsExperience:
- Minimum of two (2) years' working experience with EHR and other hospital applications.
Education:
- Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics or related field.
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
- Applications which include the Microsoft Office suite of products and familiarity with EHR systems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with practice leadership, physicians, advanced practitioners, colleagues and other Holy Cross Medical Center and Taos Professional Services team members.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with all members of the care team and with patients and family members.
- Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to assist in the achievement of organizational goals and objectives.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing the highest level of customer service satisfaction.
- A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers. Preferred qualifications
- Three (3) to five (5) years' working experience with EHR and other hospital applications.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics or related field.
- One (1) year working experience in healthcare; preferred Registered Nurse or Medical Assistant with experience in ambulatory care.
- One (1) year working experience with Meditech Expanse.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
