About Us We are a patient-centered, fast-paced community Gastroenterology clinic committed to providing timely, efficient, and high-quality GI care. Our team values professionalism, collaboration, and compassionate service, and we take pride in creating a welcoming environment for both patients and staff. Medical Assistant (MA)
  • Outpatient Gastroenterology Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) strongly preferred Position Summary Under general supervision, Medical Assistants perform a wide range of clinical and administrative support functions in an outpatient setting.
This role is integral to patient flow, provider support, and overall clinic efficiency. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and comfortable balancing direct patient care with front-desk and coordination responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Obtain and document patient medical histories, vital signs, medications, allergies, and chart preparation Assist providers during examinations and clinical procedures Perform front office duties, including answering phones, patient check-in and check-out, scheduling, and verifying patient information Educate patients on procedures, diagnostic testing, medications, and follow-up care within established guidelines Complete and track physician orders, including prescription coordination and prior authorizations Enter laboratory results, imaging orders, and authorization requests accurately and timely Coordinate care with specialists and outside facilities Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies Participate in outreach or clinical support activities as needed Perform other related duties as assigned Bilingual Skills We serve a diverse patient population. Candidates who are fluent in Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply, as bilingual communication is an important component of patient access, education, and overall care experience. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED Medical Assistant certificate, or currently enrolled in a medical, nursing, or pharmacy program, or at least one year of experience in a medical setting Additional education beyond the minimum requirement may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of patient charting, histories, and triage procedures Familiarity with outpatient clinic workflows and administrative processes Understanding of safety, infection control, and quality standards Strong patient education and communication skills Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols Effective time management and scheduling skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Conditions of Employment Pre-employment background investigation may be required Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Clinical environment with potential exposure to blood or blood-borne pathogens; OSHA training required Moderate physical activity, including standing or walking more than four hours per day and lifting up to 25 pounds Use of appropriate personal protective equipment as required
