RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in receiving and directing phone calls, schedule appointments, check-in patients and ensure all forms and consents are completed by patients Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit. Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; and reporting patient history summary. Check-out patients, assist with referral processing, and arrange laboratory services Assist with oversight of lab room Assist in billing process Set-up EKG machines, administer injections and medications, and perform routine specimen collection and tests Prepare equipment and examination rooms, and clean instruments Assist physician with medical treatments, procedures, and exams Manage inventory of medical supplies and equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt. Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- 1+ Years' Experience as medical assistant
- 1+ Years' Experience working with an EMR system
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Previous experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel
- CPR Certification or willing to obtain
