Assignments are based on each MA's skills, certifications, and interests — so if procedural and preoperative care excite you, you'll spend more of your week in the surgery center; if patient relationships, intake work, and prior authorizations are your strength, you'll spend more of your time in the clinic. This role is open as full-time or part-time. We will work with the right candidate on a schedule that fits. What You'll Do — In the Clinic Welcome patients warmly, perform intake and initial assessment, document vitals, current medications, allergies, history, and pain scores Pull radiology images and reports, lab results, prior records, and any outside documentation the provider needs before the visit Collect urine drug screens per practice policy and chain-of-custody requirements Provide accurate, concise patient summaries to the provider before they enter the room Help patients complete intake paperwork and consent forms; explain forms clearly and patiently Coordinate with pharmacies on refills, clarifications, and prior-authorization-related callbacks Initiate, follow up on, and close out medication prior authorizations Submit and track outgoing referrals to specialists, imaging, and physical therapy Work closely with our Personal Injury and Workers' Compensation departments to keep documentation, authorizations, and updates moving Maintain a clean, sanitary, organized clinical environment — patient safety first, every time What You'll Do — In the Ambulatory Surgery Center Prepare patients for interventional pain procedures, including chart review, vitals, and pre-procedure checks Place peripheral IVs and prepare patients for the procedure room Assist in pre-op and PACU under the direction of the procedural and nursing team Discharge patients with clear, written post-procedure instructions and follow-up information Maintain par levels of supplies; turn over rooms quickly while staying meticulous Uphold facility cleanliness, sanitation, and sterility standards consistent with ASC and AAAHC / state requirements Prioritize patient safety at every step What We're Looking For Required High school diploma or equivalent Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR equivalent supervised clinical experience Current BLS certification (or willingness to obtain before start date) Comfortable taking vitals, performing standard MA clinical tasks, and (for ASC assignments) placing peripheral IVs — or willingness to be trained Strong written, verbal, and phone communication skills Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times Preferred CCMA, RMA, or CMA certification One or more years of medical assistant experience, ideally in pain management, orthopedics, PM&R, neurosurgery, or a surgical specialty Prior experience with medication prior authorizations and outgoing referrals Familiarity with Workers' Compensation and Personal Injury patient workflows (Nevada DIR, lien-based care, etc.) Pre-op, PACU, or ASC experience EMR proficiency Bilingual English/Spanish a strong plus Why You'll Like Working Here Variety. Pay Range:
$15.00 - $23.00 DOE
