Certified Medical Assistant - MA At GI Consultants, we are dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and care of digestive and liver diseases. Our nineteen physicians and three locations make us the largest and most experienced gastroenterology practice in Northern Nevada. Our locations include three clinics and three endoscopy centers. We also have our own pathology lab and on-site GI trained pathologist, which offer our patients the benefit of faster and higher quality results. Our Medical Assistants work in a fast-paced gastroenterology clinic, serving a population of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The demands and essential duties of this position are dynamic because they involve a daily mixture of rooming and discharging clinic appointments, patient care, assisting providers with minor surgical procedures, vital signs, patient education, telemedicine, administering and processing of various in-house lab tests, prior authorizations, and medication refills. A qualified medical assistant for this position will also support our team of physicians, PA's, APRN's, and various other staff members to ensure we communicate and address patient requests in a timely manner. EDUCATION
Must have high school diploma or G.E.D. MA
Certificate or Degree from a qualified school EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
Preferred work experience as a qualified Medical Assistant in a clinic environment Knowledge of medical terminology, especially of gastroenterology, is desirable Excellent communication, computer, and people skills Maintain a positive attitude Must be organized and have excellent time management skills Proficiency in English grammar and spelling with the ability to speak and write clearly and concisely Bilingual candidates are a big plus REQUIREMENTS
