Medical Assistant Reports to:
Assigned Provider/ Clinical Supervisor Position Role:
Under direct supervision of a licensed Provider the position implements and documents care for the OB/GYN patient population. Assists provider during examinations and limited procedures (IUD removals, Nexplanon insert and removals). This includes select involvement in triaging phone calls, allowing for a deeper focus on continuity of care. Provides patient centered care to our patients and is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within our office. This position organizes and readies for each day's activities. Relies on the direction from provider and performs tasks and completes them in a timely manner. Reports to assigned provider for all clinical direction and to the clinical supervisor/ clinical manager for non-clinical operations (vacation requests, payroll issues, etc).
Practice Operation:
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Retrieve patients from the waiting area and facilitate smooth visit flow
  • Administer injections and perform NST setups as needed
  • Perform insurance authorization assistance and lab result follow-ups
  • Keep exam rooms clean and well-stocked
  • Support front/ business office as needed
  • Minimal triage call responsibilities including delivering lab results and prescription follow-ups and minimal procedure set ups
  • Maintain all MA competencies (vitals, injections, fetal monitoring, infection control, cleaning logs, autoclaves)
  • Keeping proper and complete documentation of patient communication Additional Responsibilities
  • Work in a team environment in a fast-paced medical practice
  • Participate in ongoing quality assurance as appropriate
  • Communication among staff and medical assistants through routing scheduled meetings
  • Keeps the Providers and Administrators informed regarding clinical staff issues, plans, and progress.

  • Position requires work in normal office environment 100% of the time. Exposure to bio-hazardous materials and medical chemicals possible. Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • Prior experience in a clinical setting, preferred 1+ year OB/GYN experience
