Job Description

Buffalo Ambulatory Surgery Center is looking for a reliable, hardworking Medical Assistant to care for our patients in our busy Surgical Ophthalmology Department. Your duties will consist of transporting patients within and out of the ambulatory surgery center. Assist clinical staff in the delivery of patient care. Maintain cleanliness of care area along with the following: Oriented to all care areas and to the Health Information department Assist with turning over stretchers and chairs as needed Knows location of equipment and supplies Performs clinical/patient care duties as assigned by RN Stock supplies for care Keeps caps, masks, and shoe covers stocked prn Assist patient with urinals, bedpans, and emesis basins Keeps patient nutrition station clean Keeps hallway free of clutter Checks/empties sharps containers in care areas if directed to do so Assists with Chart breakdown and filing Tracks loose reports and files Performs other Health Information duties as assigned Handle difficult patients and/or situations respectfully Take pride in providing patients with a positive experience Assists in the admission of patients to pre/postoperative area according to established guidelines Observes safety measures in patient-care areas Adhere to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities
REQUIRED
MEDICAL
ASSISTANT DEGREE
(AAS)
Preferred:
MEDICAL ASSISTANT CERTIFICATION, BLS

  • Friday (will work 4 days, with day off rotating each week) Shifts are: 6:00am
  • 4:00pm, 6:30pm
  • 4:30pm, 7:00am
  • 5:00pm
