Medical Assistant

Job Summary Columbia/ New York Presbyterian / Northwell ophthalmologist is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant. No experience needed -- we love to teach! This part-time position involves assisting with various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth patient experience. The majority of our patients speak Mandarin Chinese exclusively, so candidates must be fluent in this language to be able to provide the best service possible. Students in all fields are welcome to apply! Our physician has mentored students who have gone on to medical school, optometry school, nursing school and other health related training programs. Duties Work directly with the physician to provide the best patient care. Collaborate with the front desk team to manage appointments, and verify insurance information. When needed, assists in Chinese / English translations. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office setting is not needed - we love to teach! Mandarin Chinese preferred. Strong patient care skills with an emphasis on empathy and communication. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
