Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented NueroSurgical Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical staff in a fast-paced surgical practice. The ideal candidate will be organized, compassionate, and able to work effectively under pressure while maintaining excellent patient care, accurate documentation, and smooth patient flow. Responsibilities Support physicians and clinical staff with routine clinical and clerical duties. Room patients and document medications, vital signs, and chief complaints in the EMR. Record patient information accurately, including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature. Assist with patient preparation, exam setup, and equipment preparation for surgical consultations and special procedures. Collect blood and other laboratory specimens as requested by the physician, and perform routine lab testing as directed. Enter proposed orders into the EMR for provider review and approval. Obtain and review prior records, lab results, imaging, and outside provider documentation. Explain treatment instructions, medications, diets, and follow-up directions to patients in a clear and professional manner. Clean, sterilize, and prepare instruments and exam rooms according to infection control standards. Maintain inventory, stock exam rooms, and order supplies as needed. Ensure HIPAA, OSHA, and office safety protocols are followed at all times. Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and creating telephone encounters. Support patient flow and visit completion protocols to help maintain efficiency throughout the day. Work collaboratively in a high-volume, high-stress environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required. Prior experience in a surgical, specialty, or medical office setting preferred. Experience with computer systems and EMR documentation required. Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Self-directed, self-motivated, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Professional phone etiquette and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and OSHA regulations. Familiarity with patient flow, lab processing, and procedural support preferred. Preferred Skills Experience assisting in surgical or specialty practices. Knowledge of specimen collection, routine lab procedures, and patient education. Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Comfortable working with diverse patient populations and clinical teams

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
