Medical Assistant Job Summary Groth Pain and Spine is the premier Pain Management Specialty Practice on Long Island, combining cutting edge technology with knowledgeable providers to provide the highest level of care for our patients. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team throughout our Nassau County locations. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a clinical and non-clinical setting. This position requires proficiency in various medical procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Certified Medical Assistant will assist healthcare professionals in delivering comprehensive care to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their visit. Duties Assist with patient intake, including taking medical histories and recording vital signs. Answer phones and schedule patients Perform basic life support and emergency procedures when necessary. Conduct X-Ray procedures and ensure proper handling of imaging equipment. Assist with patient consents and paperwork Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with patients and staff. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including coding for insurance purposes. Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies are available for procedures. Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide exceptional patient care. Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care. Requirements Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required. Proficiency in medication administration and basic life support certification. Experience in emergency medicine or inpatient settings is preferred. Familiarity with medical coding practices is a plus. Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to patient care. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a busy clinical environment.
