We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic and professional individual to join our team. A Medical Assistant, is responsible for assisting Doctors and PAs in providing care to their patients. Duties include but not limited to recording and updating medical histories and contact information in patient files, scheduling patient appointments, and prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients. this position requires a high school diploma and medical assistant certificate or 2 years of experience in a related field, knowledge of medical insurances and healthcare benifits. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record and proficient computer skills is required.
Responsibilities:
Welcome patients by greeting them in person or on the telephone Verify patient information, recording medical history, confirming purpose of visit Answer phone calls and make appointments, screen callers, relay messages. Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential Inform patients of costs for care being provided and guides them to appropriate resources for further information. Counsel patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about surgery Complete and process FMLA, disability, and all other forms Maintain safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, verifying receipt Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies inventories Any other related tasks that might be requested by your supervisor Must speak Spanish Must be willing to travel to other office locations if needed
