Medical Assistant / Front Desk Hybrid Dermatology & Aesthetics Practice Jaye Dermatology & Aesthetics New York, NY Job Details Part-time $21 - $24 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications HIPAA Medical scheduling Attention to detail Organizational skills Aesthetic treatments Full Job Description Medical Assistant / Front Desk Hybrid Dermatology & Aesthetics Practice Location New York, New York Position Type Hourly (Hybrid Clinical & Front Desk) Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays with potential for Monday and Wednesday Schedule Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (with potential for adding on days either in person or remote) About the Practice We are a warm, boutique modern dermatology and aesthetics practice providing comprehensive medical dermatology alongside cosmetic services. Our practice treats conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancer, while also offering injectables, laser and energy-based treatments, chemical peels, skin-tightening procedures, skin care routines and cosmetic consultations as well as a range of additional medical and cosmetic treatments. We emphasize clinical excellence, patient safety, professionalism, and a high-quality patient experience. Position Overview We are seeking a polished, reliable medical assistant / front desk hybrid employee who is comfortable working in both medical dermatology and aesthetics. This role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to seamlessly transition between clinical support and front office responsibilities. Clinical Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepare patients for medical and aesthetic dermatology visits and assist in the exam room with visits and do follow-up calls for patients Obtain and accurately document medical histories, medications, allergies, and consent forms and assist with patient prescriptions Assist providers with medical dermatology procedures including biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and injections Assist with aesthetic treatments such as injectables, laser and energy-based procedures, and cosmetic services as permitted under New York State law and physician delegation Perform approved clinical tasks and handle and label pathology specimens appropriately Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure care for both medical and cosmetic treatments Front Desk / Administrative Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Greet patients professionally and provide a warm, polished patient experience Schedule medical and cosmetic appointments and manage patient flow Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for medical dermatology visits as needed Collect patient payments and cosmetic service payments Manage intake forms, consents, referrals, and prior authorizations Respond to patient inquiries via phone, email, secure messaging, and patient portal Maintain accurate documentation within the PMS and EHR HIPAA, Compliance & New York Scope Responsibilities Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient health information in compliance with HIPAA and NYS privacy laws Follow all practice policies regarding secure communication, EMR access, and data protection Perform only those clinical tasks permitted under New York State Medical Assistant scope and as delegated by the supervising physician Adhere to OSHA standards, infection control protocols, and workplace safety regulations Accurately obtain and manage patient consents and authorizations Immediately report any compliance, safety, or privacy concerns Qualifications Medical Assistant certification preferred or equivalent dermatology experience Prior experience in dermatology and/or aesthetics preferred (although not required to apply) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and patient service skills in person and virtually Professional appearance and demeanor Proficiency with EMR systems/ability to learn quickly new PMS/EHR systems This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive and duties and hours may be modified as needed to meet practice needs.
