Job Description

Role Summary Working under the guidance of the Office Supervisor and in partnership with our Physician team , the Medical Assistant (MA) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. This position requires a proactive professional who excels at multitasking, maintains a positive attitude, and possesses a deep commitment to clinical policies and patient confidentiality. You will be responsible for the seamless flow of patient visits, from clinical intake to essential administrative support.
Essential Responsibilities Clinical Patient Care Intake & Vitals:
Professionally greet and escort patients to exam rooms; accurately measure and record vitals (weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature).
Clinical Support:
Assist Physicians with clinical procedures and deliver clear, accurate instructions to patients as directed.
Medication Management:
Perform thorough reconciliation of patient medications.
Documentation:
Maintain precise and timely documentation of all patient history and clinical data within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Administrative & Coordination Information Management:
Ensure all relevant lab results, reports, and medical records are filed and available in the patient's chart prior to their appointment.
Patient Access:
Manage office queue calls, schedule appointments/imaging, and initiate referrals on behalf of the patient.
EMR Maintenance:
Process tasks/messages, verify demographic data for accuracy, and utilize ancillary portals (e.g., Borg & Ide) to retrieve necessary medical information.
Insurance Support:
Obtain preauthorizations when necessary to ensure continuity of care.
Environment & Operations Clinic Upkeep:
Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked workstations and exam rooms.
Compliance:
Adhere strictly to OSHA and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and safety.
Team Support:
Cross-train with other office roles to provide coverage and assist with specialized projects or tasks as requested by management.
Position Requirements Professionalism:
A consistent, polite approach toward patients, vendors, and colleagues.
Reliability:
Exceptional attendance and punctuality are core expectations.
Adaptability:
Flexibility to work at different local offices or adjust hours based on the practice's needs.
Problem Solving:
The ability to resolve issues independently or escalate them to the appropriate resource when necessary.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills for both patient interaction and EMR documentation. Work Environment This role requires a presence in a fast-paced clinical setting. Participation in all mandatory staff meetings, training sessions, and testing is required.
Pay:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
