Medical Assistant Posted 06-May-2026 (EST) Physician Center 1500 North James Street, Rome, NY, USA 16.00-18.20 per hour Hourly Monday-Friday Days Ambulatory Medical Assistant - Full Time Rome Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team, in Rome and Oneida. This position supports providers and clinical staff by performing a combination of administrative and clinical duties in a fast-paced healthcare setting. The Medical Assistant plays an important role in coordinating patient care, supporting daily operations, and helping ensure a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities:
Assist providers and nursing staff with patient care and clinical procedures Prepare patients for appointments, procedures, and treatments Obtain and document vital signs and patient information Organize and maintain patient records and medical documentation Coordinate scheduling, testing, and follow-up appointments Communicate with patients, caregivers, physicians, and outside healthcare facilities Collect laboratory specimens, including phlebotomy and microbiology swabs Perform EKG testing as directed Prepare exam and treatment areas and maintain clinical supplies Support patient flow and help ensure efficient daily operations Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all safety and compliance standards
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required Prior experience working in a hospital, ambulatory, or medical office setting preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a team environment Basic clinical and computer skills preferred
