Job Description

Per diem to part-time Medical Assistant needed for busy medical office in Saranac Lake, NY. Duties include but not limited to: rooming patients, checking vitals, drawing blood, collecting patient samples, EKG's, answering phones, etc.
Skills:
Must have great customer service skills, computer experience as well as organizational and excellent multi-tasking skills. Past medical experience is preferred but not required. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in procedures to foster a positive experience. Take vital signs, record medical histories, and prepare patients for examinations under the supervision of healthcare providers. Assist with clinical procedures such as injections, specimen collection, and basic diagnostic tests. Maintain accurate patient records by documenting visits, treatments, and test results in electronic health records systems. Manage appointment scheduling, patient correspondence, and follow-up communications to ensure seamless clinic operations. Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patient use while adhering to infection control protocols. Support administrative tasks including billing assistance, insurance verification, and data entry to streamline office workflows. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant training program preferred. Proven experience working in a clinical or healthcare environment is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse patient populations. Knowledge of medical terminology, basic clinical procedures, and electronic health records systems. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
