Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service, and clinical procedures. The Medical Assistant will work in various settings, including outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, and hospitals, providing essential support to both patients and healthcare providers. Duties Assist healthcare professionals with patient intake and assessment, including obtaining vital signs and medical history. Provide direct patient care in various settings such as outpatient clinics, urgent care, and inpatient environments. Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patients for adverse reactions. Perform basic life support and emergency procedures when necessary. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and management of patient information. Conduct routine diagnostic testing ( phlebotomy, specimen collection) Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient files, and coding diagnoses using ICD coding. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care across various specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, and emergency medicine. Skills Proficient in medical administrative support functions and EHR systems. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding. Experience in hospital medicine or urgent care settings preferred. Ability to perform intake assessments and document vital signs accurately. Experience in outpatient clinics Basic life support certification is required; advanced certifications preferred for specific specialties (e.g., PICU or OR experience). Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and empathy towards diverse populations.
