Job Description

Category Laboratory - Pathology Assistant Job Type Contract We are searching for a highly skilled professional with expertise as a Laboratory Pathology Assistant or Pathologist Assistant to support laboratory operations during a 13-week assignment. Your vital contributions will ensure high-quality patient care within a dedicated team environment.
Schedule/Hours:
Four 10-hour shifts per week Friday to Monday, 8:00am - 6:30pm
Qualifications:
ASCP certification is required Minimum of 2 years' experience in pathology/laboratory settings Proficiency in laboratory protocols, specimen grossing, and histology workflows Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation, gross examination, and dissection of surgical specimens according to established protocols Prepare frozen sections, select and submit tissue for microscopic analysis Accurately document gross and microscopic findings, maintaining thorough records Handle laboratory equipment and instrumentation in compliance with safety guidelines Communicate effectively with pathologists, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals to maintain seamless workflow Contribute to quality assurance initiatives and promote efficient laboratory practices
